Treat screen size as a first clue

A 13 inch description does not uniquely identify a keyboard. Apple’s model list separates MacBook Air generations, including Intel and Apple-silicon models. A cover selector can also distinguish Touch Bar, function-row and other families. Screen diagonal is not a complete mold specification, and the tool does not infer compatibility from it.

Use the selected examples

GhostCover has one selected US/Clear variant for MacBook Air M1, 2020, and another selected US/Clear variant whose current title covers AirM 2–M5, 2022–2026. They have different identifiers in the seller’s feed even though both are sold under the Original product page. A shared 12.98 USD price does not make them the same physical cover.

Keep the exact Apple identifier

Apple identifies the M1, 2020 Air as MacBookAir10,1 and the M2, 2022 Air as Mac14,2. The lookup uses these exact model identifiers for its limited verified references. A note saying only “Air 13” leaves the actual generation unresolved. The website does not ask for a serial number or use one to guess a keyboard.

Do not stretch a legacy family

The selected Moshi 99MO021907 offer is for an 11 inch MacBook Air with US layout, and the retailer’s specs describe a pre-2016 family. It is not a cover for a current 13 inch Air. This site has not verified an exact individual model-identifier mapping for that legacy offer, so its lookup state remains family-only and unresolved.

Check layout separately

Even a correct model family can have different regional physical key arrangements. A US-layout cover should not be declared an ISO match because the laptop has the right screen size. The model and layout checks stay separate. A seller’s expressly documented dual-layout design would need its own exact product record rather than a general assumption.

Before ordering

Record the model name, year, Apple model identifier, physical layout and selected cover SKU together. If any field is missing, request clarification instead of relying on a screen-size title. A source-level keyboard match still does not permit leaving the cover in place while closing the display;Apple’s removal instruction continues to apply.

A practical ordering record

A useful line item reads more like “MacBook Air M1, 2020;MacBookAir10,1;actual US physical layout;selected GhostCover M1 US/Clear variant 31917857767503” than “13 inch cover.” The longer record prevents a later buyer from selecting another generation or regional mold because the short title looks familiar. It also makes a supplier question specific. No individual serial or photograph needs to be sent to this website. If the actual physical keyboard was replaced or differs from the expected regional layout, the model-family reference alone should not settle the question. Keep that uncertainty until the current exact product information is checked.
