Keep the source number literal
The selected GhostCover page lists 0.12 mm and 0.005 inch wording. Moshi’s matching 11 inch sheet lists 0.1 mm. These are manufacturer descriptions, not caliper measurements by this site. A conversion between rounded source values does not create a more accurate physical specification or establish the tolerance of a received sample.
Do not invent the available gap
Apple explains that Mac-notebook display clearance is tightly engineered and advises removing keyboard covers before closure. The support page does not provide a gap value for this calculator to subtract a cover thickness from. The site therefore has no safe-clearance equation or numeric threshold that approves leaving a protector installed.
Keep key wells and edges in scope
A single nominal thickness field does not describe every molded feature, edge, overlap or condition of a cover. This reference has not inspected those dimensions. It does not assume a stated film thickness is the maximum added height everywhere or that an adhesive strip and a cover together preserve clearance.
Do not borrow a marketing comparison
A source may call a product several times thinner than a silicone alternative. That is not a measured comparison of all current covers or a guarantee of better typing for every user. The website does not invent a control product, test method or performance score from that phrase. Price and physical use conditions remain separate.
Keep the removal workflow
A buyer can compare source materials and thicknesses while still planning to remove the cover before closing the display. That official instruction does not disappear when a correct keyboard family is selected. A documented fit reference is not a display-contact or damage test.
Ask about a missing specification
If a procurement requirement needs a current exact thickness, material or tolerance document, request it for the selected SKU. Leave missing fields pending rather than treating an older generic product sheet as a complete current technical dossier. The website provides no display-damage warranty or actual closure experiment.
Rounded units are not a tolerance report
The GhostCover page’s 0.005 inch and 0.12 mm descriptions are rounded source values. Converting one to more decimal places would not create a measured manufacturing tolerance. The same applies to a source claiming 0.1 mm for another product. This website does not add those figures to adhesive thickness, subtract them from an invented notebook gap or predict screen pressure. The missing device-clearance specification remains missing. Apple’s actual removal instruction is the relevant reviewed closing condition, so the purchasing tool retains it without offering a numeric exception for an apparently smaller figure.
