Attribute the protection language

The selected seller pages describe protection against splashes, spills, dust or oily fingers. Those are product claims. This site has not poured liquid onto a cover or laptop, performed ingress testing or verified a waterproof rating. It does not label the complete device waterproof because a removable keyboard sheet is marketed for spills.

Keep openings and the device separate

A keyboard cover is not a full enclosure of every laptop opening. The reviewed source material does not establish a certified sealed system for the entire notebook. This website does not invent a spill volume, dwell time or angle under which a device is guaranteed protected. No technical test protocol has been conducted here.

Do not turn warranty into repair coverage

A manufacturing-defect warranty on a cover is not automatically a warranty for a laptop damaged by liquid. The GhostCover page excludes usage-related wear, and Moshi’s limited warranty has its own scope. The site has not verified coverage for every accidental event or submitted a claim. Current seller terms need their own review.

Avoid a practical demonstration

The illustrations contain no liquids or actual spill scenes. They show generic detached products and plain packaging. A dramatic image of water on a keyboard could imply a test or a safe practice that has not been established. This reference instead keeps the buying facts and their limitations visible.

Keep official device instructions

A splash-related cover claim does not override Apple’s removal-before-closure guidance or establish a maintenance procedure for a wet device. This guide provides no liquid-damage repair protocol. It does not instruct a user to keep operating a device because a cover was present.

Before relying on a requirement

Ask the supplier for the exact current claim, applicable test rating and actual warranty scope if those are needed for the purchase. If no rating or coverage is verified, leave it unknown. A current price and a documented keyboard-family reference can be useful without making a waterproof or damage-prevention guarantee.

A demonstration would need actual evidence

A staged water image can imply a level of protection even without a numeric claim. The assets here avoid that implication and show detached generic products. No spilled quantity, exposure time or device outcome was measured. A buyer who needs a certified ingress rating should ask for the exact current documentation rather than reading a splash-related marketing phrase as a test report. Likewise, a defect warranty does not automatically cover a laptop beneath the accessory. The calculator never subtracts hypothetical repair savings from a cover’s price or calls an untested protection feature a guaranteed financial benefit.
